Peptides for brows and lashes: what the science really says
Share
What a peptide is
A short chain of amino acids, the building blocks of protein. Hair is mostly protein, which is why peptides are used in products that aim to fortify it.
What the evidence shows
Cosmetic peptides have been studied for their effect on the look and strength of hair, and the results are promising but early. We are honest about that. Our own consumer study is planned, and we will publish what it finds.
Why not prostaglandins
Prostaglandin analogues were developed as eye drops for glaucoma and can grow lashes quickly. They have also been associated with irritation and darkening around the eye in some users. We chose a peptide formula with a dermaroller instead, so the serum has a fair chance to work without those trade offs.
